I have been a big fan of Da Vinci's work for years. When I figured out how to make a book in 3DS Max 6 I decided to hunt down some of his notebook sketches and studies and make something out of them. I didn't want to use any more shiny materials so I used a dull paper background and a dull leather texture for the cover. I think it turned out very well and it almost looks like a real book.
